COMMUNITY OUTREACH

"There’s nothing more rewarding than giving back, to make a difference in our community."

~ Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue

At Mostly Mutts, we recognize that we are part of a very large community that touches lives in many ways. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of people, their compassion for what we do, and the desire to help support our efforts. In return, we are committed to giving back in ways that complement our cause, demonstrate our good citizenship, and, hopefully, help make the world a better place.

We like to pay it forward as well as give back. Here are highlights of some of the good work we do to share our passion for rescue and serve the public as well.

OUR MUTTS SHARE THE LOVE WITH LOCAL SENIOR CITIZENS

Science has proven that touch between a human and a furry friend can have therapeutic benefits for both species. We witness this mutual benefit every week, when our volunteer team, along with ambassador dogs and kittens, visit Daybreak Village, a welcoming assisted living facility located near our center. This rewarding program allows the residents to cuddle with our adoptable pets and share their own heartwarming stories about furry companions they’ve had in their lives.

PROVIDING CAREER POSSIBILITIES IN PRISON-BASED PROGRAM

When the opportunity presented itself, we were certain that offering a dog-training program would prove to be a win-win for our adoptable dogs and the men within the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups. With our help, these future returning citizens have been transformed into accomplished dog trainers, and our mutts have returned from the program with impressive new skills and refined behavior.

TAKING PRIDE AND OWNERSHIP OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD

We are always looking for ways to show our respect for our neighborhood and commitment to help care for our community. Through the City of Kennesaw, Georgia, we have adopted the main road that leads to the Mostly Mutts center. We regularly deploy our volunteers to pick up any trash and debris along the sidewalks, demonstrating our pride in keeping this historic Kennesaw street sparkling clean and litter free.

GOING THE EXTRA MILE TO KEEP DOGS AND CATS HEALTHY

Recognizing that many pet owners struggle with the cost of keeping their pets vaccinated, we co-host an annual free vaccination clinic to ensure that more pets will be protected against diseases such as rabies, distemper, leukemia and parvo.  It’s rewarding to offer assistance that serves the public while ensuring that pets stay healthy.
