Have a behavior problem or want to get your puppy off to a good start? You’ve come to the right place. At Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue, we put a big emphasis on training. Not only do our adoptable dogs receive in-house training, but we offer affordable training classes to the general public. Our goal is to build great relationships between dogs and their owners and to prevent the number of dogs being re-homed due to behavior problems. Our classes are conducted by experienced trainers who have worked with dogs of all temperaments, breeds and sizes.

CLASSES FOR PUPPIES 6 MONTHS TO 1 YEAR OLD
PUPPY TRAINING CLASS | $99
Four-week puppy course.
For puppies 6 months to 1 year old.
Mondays | 6:15 – 7:15 pm | Register
This introductory class will teach you proper socialization and basic commands to use with your puppy. We will also address puppy challenges such as potty training, chewing, teething, and jumping.
Note: Space is limited to 6 dogs.
CLASSES FOR DOGS 1 YEAR OLD +
ADULT BASIC OBEDIENCE CLASS - LEVEL 1 | $99
Four-week training program
Tuesdays | 6:30 – 7:30 pm | Register
Wednesdays | 7:00 – 8:00 pm | Register
Saturdays | 1:00 – 2:00 pm | Register
This basic training class teaches you how to properly communicate with your dog and learn sit, stay, down, come, place, leave it, drop it, and leash walking. We will also discuss unwanted behaviors such as digging and jumping.
Note: Space is limited to 6 dogs.
ADULT BASIC OBEDIENCE CLASS - LEVEL 2 | $99
Four-week training program
Saturdays | 10:00 – 11:00 am | Register
This level 2 obedience training class teaches you how to properly take your communication skills with your dog to the next level. Working as a next step after completing a Basic Obedience Class - Level 1, you will understand how to add more distance and distractions to sit and down, tighten up your skills on a leash, as well as games and unwanted behavior like excessive barking.
Note: Space is limited to 6 dogs
CLASSES FOR DOGS OF ALL AGES
This class will teach you the tools you need to help prevent and eventually stop jumping behavior. We will also go over ways to provide your dog with proper mental and physical stimulation which can help with many common unwanted behaviors.
Note: Space is limited to 4 dogs.
This 1-hour individualized training class teaches you what your dog needs to become a loose leash walker.
Note: Space is limited to 2 dogs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Signed Liability Release.
- Completed Questionnaire to help us learn about your dog’s needs.
- Retractable leashes are not allowed.
- Dogs must be current on age-appropriate vaccinations.
- Dogs over 6 months must be spayed or neutered.
- Well-behaved children 7 years and older are welcome to attend classes.
- Bring treats for your own dog for training. Should be high value. We recommend Pupperoni sticks (cut into small 1/4”pieces).
