A SWEET & SOMEWHAT SHY GUY: 4 years old / 31 lbs.

Hi there! I’m Pierce! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control when I was a bit skinny and heartworm positive. Thankfully I’ve gained the weight I needed and have been treated for the heartworms, so I’m looking forward to a great life with my new family soon! I’ll be finished with the heartworm treatment in mid-July, but I am still available for adoption during my recovery time.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I’ve been reactive to dogs I’ve seen at Mostly Mutts, so I should be your only dog. / Cats unknown / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me. Let’s meet! If there are children in my new home, they should not walk me due to my dislike of other dogs.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a bit shy at first, but have a very sweet, calm nature once I am comfortable with you. I am pretty low-key (and would likely benefit from a quiet home), but I do have a playfulness about me, and the shelter volunteers have noticed that I am pretty smart and affectionate, too. / My energy level is 4-6.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer. I have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘stay’, ‘leave-it’ and ‘come’ commands and have learned how to accept nice strangers without jumping on them, as well as showing proper door etiquette. Check back soon to see what else I have learned. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I like to play and I enjoy my time in the Mostly Mutts play pen with the volunteers. I soak up all the love and attention that comes my way and am grateful for the good care I am receiving. Whether playing with toys or getting all the petting, I love my 'people time’. I also love treats – yum! / Other than dogs, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m currently going through my heartworm treatment which should conclude in mid-July, but am still available for adoption during this time, so please inquire about me and local adoption only, please.

I am looking for a loving home with a family that is on the calm and quieter side themselves! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
