Hello there! My name is Maxine! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I got to participate in the prison foster/training program where I learned so much and had a blast quickly heading to the top of my class! Now I’m in a foster home waiting for my furever family to find me! Maybe it’s you?

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: No dogs please – I’d like to be your only dog as I didn’t like the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts and I growled and snapped at them. I have been fine passing other dogs on my walks at with a redirection command. An apartment set up where I’d have to pass lots of dogs in tight quarters may not be best for me / Cats Unknown / I have met kids on my walks with my foster family and really liked them. Older kids who can play with me would be best, such as 10+. No toddlers as I might knock them over with my enthusiasm. Also, the kids should not walk me due to my dislike of other dogs.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a friendly, playful, and energetic girl who is curious and loves to have fun with my people! Hikes are the BEST! When at home, l tend to match the energy level of my people. When they are active, so am I but I also easily settle and can be a couch potato with them once my exercise needs are met. I am a puzzle solver and like to figure things out so I think I would like some puzzle toys in my forever home. I’d like a family with a member who is home a lot as I do best with that set up / Energy level: 7-9.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University program. I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘down’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’, and ‘go to your place’ commands, loose leash walking, proper door etiquette, and accepting friendly strangers without jumping. I’ve also learned “peek-a-boo” and “wipe your paws” for extra credit. I’m very food motivated, so I look forward to my continued training with you! I ride well in the car with a doggie seatbelt. / My foster family does not crate me when they leave home as I have proved that I can leave things alone that aren’t mine. Now I will seek out the comfort of my crate when I want a safe place for a nap. Once in my forever home, I will need to feel confident that my people will return and then I can be comfortable / My potty habits have been good.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I like toys and my favorite kind is anything that squeaks and puzzle toys and I look forward to my play sessions with you. I love to give and receive affection and I bond deeply with my people. Though not required, a home with a fenced yard where I can explore, play, and burn off my energy without the stress of encountering other dogs would be ideal for me. I also recently discovered that I like to play in water, so that could be fun to do together – or just watch / I wouldn’t like a home where my people are gone a lot as I tended to be loud and stressed in my room alone at MM’s, but I was much quieter in the prison program and am in my foster home. I also wouldn’t like being in a home where I did not get enough exercise, love and attention.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for an active family that matches my energy level and will provide a great home for me! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
