Madelyn

Gender: Female
Breed: Labrador
Secondary Breed: Mix
Status: Adoptable

YOUR SWEET, GENTLE FRIEND: 3 years old / 41 lbs.

Hi, my name is Madelyn! I came to Mostly Mutts by way of another rescue that Mostly Mutts was able to help by taking in some of their animals looking for furever homes. I hope to find mine soon!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet / Cats unknown / I recently met some kids at the shelter and did well with them, so children around age 10+ may be nice in my new home, so let’s meet! Best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’ve just gone into a foster home and they already describe me as a love bug who is perfectly happy cuddling on the couch while receiving endless head rubs! I settled in quickly and have been a quiet girl so far, so yay me! While at the MM facility, the volunteers reported that I was very sweet and calm with them and looked for attention and love / My energy level is 4-6 and I should not be permitted to run around much right now until after I’ve completed my heart worm treatment. (see medical below)

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I seem to be a smart lady as when I worked with the volunteers, they reported that I know the ‘sit’, ‘stay’ and ‘come’ commands, so you can teach me even more, I’m sure! I pull on my leash a bit, so my foster family is working with me on this now / My crate manners were good at Mostly Mutts, and in my foster home I don’t love going into my crate, but once inside I usually take a nap and remain calm / Since I’m new to my foster home, I’ve had minimal accidents – I’m getting used to the routine in the home so, please be consistent with me in my new environment and I think I’ll have it all figured out pretty quickly.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: In my foster home, I love snuggling, sitting on the couch, jerky treats and following my people around the home. I also liked getting out and about with the volunteers who cared for me while I was at the shelter / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I would not be happy if I did not get the love and attention all doggies deserve!

• MEDICAL: Unfortunately, my previous owner did not keep me on a heartworm preventative, so I am heartworm positive. Mostly Mutts will take care of the cost of my treatment with their vet, so local adoption only, please. I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I am looking for a loving family to give me a wonderful home! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
