A REAL SWEETHEART: 5 years old / Approx. 41 lbs.

Hi, my name is Daffodil! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and it was clear that I have not had the easiest life so far. I have been a momma dog many times and came in heartworm positive. My mothering days are behind me for good and I am currently going through my heartworm treatment. Now nothing stands between me and the great life I have always deserved!

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, but I visited a home for a week and liked the dogs I met while I was there, so if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet. / Cats unknown / I recently met some children (age 10+) at Mostly Mutts, and I liked them – so kids that age in my new home may be nice, but best no toddlers that I may bump over, and – of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I am a super sweet girl who has become quite the happy little tail wager and a great front office helper (you do the work and I’ll keep the dog bed occupied next to you and keep you company). Overall, I am a pretty calm, though I was a bit skittish when I first arrived at Mostly Mutts. It didn’t take long for me to know I was in a good place, once the volunteers started showering me with the love and attention, I needed to feel safe and loved. I would like a home where someone is at home most of the time as I am not a fan of being alone. / My energy level is currently 3-5, though it may increase after my heart worm treatment.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop-it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. I visited a home for a little under a week and we realized that I didn’t know how to climb stairs, so I’m back at the shelter. I can probably learn to do some stairs, but let’s not have too many please. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, but they were not good in the home I visited as I did make noise and try to break out, and I didn’t do too well when left alone loose in the home either. Hopefully in time this will improve as I learn that you will return. Best no apartment for this reason. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule and in the home I visited.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I love the attention I am getting and spending time with the volunteers. I take my time on my walks, just enjoying the outing with them. I have a bit of playfulness about me and show interest in toys. Sunny days are my favorite, as I love to sit in the sun with the nice volunteers. / I may be timid in new situations – just as when I arrived at the shelter, so just give me time to adjust. I’m not a fan of being left alone, and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention and training.

• MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m currently going through my heartworm treatment which should finish up in Mid-July, but I am still available for adoption during this time, so please inquire about me.

I am looking for a home where I will be a cherished family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
