‘GREAT GATSBY’ THEMED KITTEN: 3.5 months old / small

Hi, my name is Jay! My sister Daisy and I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control. I was initially quite skittish and reserved with people, but lots of patience and time spent with the volunteers have helped me to come out of my shell and show what a charming guy I can be!

• OTHER CATS/DOGS/KIDS: I got along well with my sister (since adopted), so I may enjoy another kitty in my new home, so let’s meet / Dogs Unknown / Since I am slower to warm up to my people, gentle older children would be a better fit for me than young children who may not understand the time I may need to feel comfortable, and – of course, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY INFORMATION: I was very shut down when first arriving at Mostly Mutts – not wanting to be around people and not making much eye contact, even in my great foster home. Everyone thought I may do better on the shelter schedule, so I returned to the Mostly Mutts facility, where several volunteers could interact with me in my little room and provide much needed socialization. Voila! I slowly began spending time outside my hiding places and near people. Now, I am enjoying petting, scratches, and even sitting in laps. I have started to play with toys and – WOW – what a great purring motor I have developed to show my appreciation to the volunteers working with me! Now, they describe me as a super sweet kitten who is just a bit shy.

• SKILLS/LITTER TRAINED STATUS: I keep my area clean, as I am litter trained.

• LIKES/DISLIKES: I am opening up and becoming receptive to petting and scratches, so please continue to provide the socialization I need, just as the dedicated volunteers have done to get me to the point I am now – giving and receiving affection. I have also developed a liking for fun kitty toys / When at my most skittish, any sudden movement sent me scurrying to my hiding place. I still don’t care for sudden movement but am much more relaxed than I used to be. Other than that, I can’t think of any dislikes, though I am starting to see how great love and attention can be, so I would not be happy if I did not get enough of that in my new home.

• MEDICAL: I’ve started my kitten shots, but you must finish those for me as I grow. I’m neutered, microchipped and combo tested negative.

I am looking for a loving family who will give me the time I may need to adjust to my new home. Once settled, I will reward you with lots of love! My adoption fee is $175.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
