TO KNOW ME IS TO LOVE ME:

I lost my home when my owner was put into a nursing home. I once was 20 lbs but have been dieting and exercising. I have lost almost 6 pounds. I still have another 5- 6 pounds to go. I always beg to eat from the table (and I will sit up pretty and beg ) but that’s how I lost my boyish figure. Iam a wonderful dog that likes to be loved on. I love to have the side of my face rubbed and my ears scratched. I do not know how to speak words so when you do something that I don't like, I growl. I do not like to be pushed with a foot, and to let you know how much I dislike that, I may snip at your foot. I am elderly and don't appreciate children like I used to, so I would love a home where there are none. I don't mind if they visit as long as they don't bother me. I am house broken and am very good on a leash. I love to ride in a car. I would be happiest in a home with an elderly yet active couple and preferably with another small loving dog. My Foster says I am a wonderful, wonderful dog and am becoming more loving as the days go by.

MY EYES ADORE YOU!

I was starving when I came to Mostly Mutts.  After having a litter of puppies I had nothing left of me.  But now I am eating routinely and am gaining weight and feel so much better.  But right now, I’m obsessed with food and I get a really high quality diet here at MM.  I am such a love…I love head rubs and I rarely take my eyes off of you.  I am so looking forward to a new home where I can finally settle in and enjoy life…I’ve had it quite rough!

I'M CUTE & BEAUTIFUL:

 I feel a little lost right now while I search for a new family.  I enjoy being around the dogs at the shelter but I miss the cuddling and the petting that only an owner could give.  I’m very sweet, well behaved and very good looking.  Please come meet me…you will really like my wonderful personality.

LOYAL DOG:

I am fiercely loyal and very lovable.  I live in a townhouse and think I own all the houses and land.  I need a fenced in yard where I can run and burn the high energy I have.  I also like to be walked.   I am very loving and playful in the house.  I love to play, be petted and brushed.  I prefer to be with dogs same size as me or larger.

I AM AWESOME BUT LONELY:

You will fall in love with me instantly.  After 6 years, my owner turned my sister and me into animal control because they moved.  I am so sad and lonely.  I was obviously well fed, but for my own health, I need to loose some weight.  Mostly Mutts is working with me to loose those extra pounds.  I am content to sit at your feet and be pet all day.  If I could, I would even jump up on the sofa to sit next to you.  I am quiet, extremely loyal and loving and like to follow you around.  I like to go on walks but need some training not to pull. I can go outside with other dogs but really, really want to be inside with you.  My sister just got adopted.  Everyone at Mostly Mutts loves me…they think I am very special.  You know what?  I am!!!  My foster says I give back all the love you will give to me.  I think a Senior would be great for me.  I am a little timid of men.

LOVEABLE PUP:

I am from a litter of 6, born Jan. 2nd, 2008.  Mom is a small 35 lb Golden Retriever mix.   Mommy is very smart and sweet and sensitive so I should be too.  I love stuffed toys, being held and loved on.

DARLING PUP:

I am from a litter of 6 and Mom is a Lab mix.  I have long legs yet I’m not as tall as Reginald and Riley.  I am much more snuggly than the other boys.  I would do real well with children.

I AM PRECIOUS: 

I'm named Precious for a reason.  My foster family thinks I'm great and very easy since all I want to do is sit on the couch and watch TV with you or whatever.  I'm great with dogs, kids, and was even good with the cat at the vet clinic.  I'm a little stressed right now so I have to be retrained with the potty thing, but I'm improving daily.  I will let you know when there is a person or a squirrel at the door but I don't bark if there is not a reason to.  I'll be a fantastic companion dog...come meet me please.  I am 8 years old and am looking for a loving family who will spend a lot of time with me.

PERFECT PARK DOG:

If you love to have fun, we’ll get along perfectly.  I’m a stunning looking silly boy and I love to chase a ball and a Frisbee…you’ll have to teach me how to catch it.  I really should be an agility dog because of my energy level and my ability to leap 5 foot fences with very little effort.  I only jump over to come see you.  I play with all dogs and even Roxy, my new buddy likes me…she doesn’t like many dogs.  We have fun together and I can play really rough with her and she doesn’t mind.  I kennel well but if there is commotion, I can add to it with my rendition of ‘who let the dogs out…bark, bark, bark”.  I’m a cool dog.

BEAUTIFUL PUP:

I am from a litter of 10. Mom is a white Shepherd. I am the largest of the litter and love to be in charge.

Our foster says we are adorable, very affectionate and loving. We love to play outside and run in the grass. We are totally paper-trained, and we are working on outside. We use the bathroom every time we go outside.  We have great dispositions!

My sister Sandy and I are up for adoption.   We love each other very much.  We cuddle with each other, play with each other and keep each other clean.  We are even in the same kennel together and we don’t fight over food or treats or anything.  We are what they call “low maintenance dogs”.  They love us at the shelter because we are so easy.  We’re happy to be inside in our kennel or outside playing with the other dogs.  It is time for us to move to our own separate homes.

A BALL OF FIRE:

It didn’t take Mostly Mutts long to name me.  I can go 1000 miles per hour but still stay with you.  I’m just a little thing and the volunteers who come to the shelter fall in love with me.  I have the best attitude and I’m always happy.  I have yet to bark and I just love going outside and playing with the other dogs.  I’m really no trouble.  My biggest problem is that I can jump and jump and jump…that’s the Jack in me.  I could probably jump rope if you taught me.  Make sure if you adopt me that you can keep up with me…we’ll have so much fun.  I’d be a great camping dog!

I LOVE TO PLAY WITH CHILDREN:     Pointer mix

I’m a great dog.  The more the people, the more fun I have.  I used to jump on the trampoline with my last family but they didn’t want me anymore because I would get out of their fence.  So far at the shelter, I’ve never escaped.  I enjoy playing with dogs too.  I’ll kennel very well and I have yet to bark.  I need to have a high energy family who will enjoy me for the rest of my life.

LOYAL, SWEET AND PLAYFUL:

I’m a cutie and everyone really loves me.  I’m having so much fun playing with the other dogs here at the shelter and I go to bed so happy and content.  I’m so quiet and I’m learning a few manners.  The one I have not gotten yet is to how to greet people without jumping…but I’m getting better.  I will be an awesome family dog.  You will fall in love with me in about 15 seconds. 

HAPPY AND SWEET:

How do you think I got my name?  I love to kiss and kiss and kiss but sometimes I forget and get you with my teeth instead.  It’s just that I’m so excited to see you that I get a little nutty…nothing that can’t be trained with a little persistence and positive reinforcement.  I really love to rough house with the other dogs at the shelter but when it’s time to settle, I go in my kennel and you won’t hear another word out of me.  I have never pottied in my kennel either.  I’m a great, loving, sweet dog and you will enjoy my company.

I’M A LOT OF FUN:

I’m a little ole cutie pie.  My original family adopted me as a puppy and returned me because of my energy level.  I think it’s fun to grab your pants leg, but I guess they didn’t.  If I could only have another dog to play with, I’ll be so easily manageable.  I don’t care if my new friend is little or big…as long as they know how to ruff-house.   I really am adorable.   

YOU AND ME BABY!

At first, you may not like me much.  I have a wall up and I’ll only put it down when I know you will be kind to me.  Take me for a walk and spend some time with me, then you will grow to love and adore me.   I even let a volunteer trim some of my nails and even though I made it VERY obvious that I didn’t like it, I never tried to bite her.   I should be supervised around new people but, hey, work with me and teach me that people are good and I’ll be awesome.  I’m so cute to watch with my toys and the tennis ball.  I’ll keep you very entertained.  Just give me a chance please. 

FULL OF SWEETNESS:

A vet clinic contacted Mostly Mutts to take me because they said I was so awesome.  I’m so nice to everyone and everything and my goal in life is to lick as many people as possible and to play with every dog in the world.  Since I’ve been cooped up in kennels for weeks, I’m in need of some heavy exercise.  I need a little bit of training because I get just a little too rambunctious.  But lots of exercise and maybe a puppy class, and I’ll be the best dog you have ever met!

GREAT DOGS:  Male & Female

We are energetic, friendly, fun and loving and are cousins.  We are both very smart dogs who need a lot of room to run and exercise.  We have been through PetSmart training with some success.  We love to go for walks but are very strong and will pull.  We could use some training here with walking nicely on a leash.   We love to be petted and we are great with small children.  Even though we are cousins we can fight like brother/sisters at times but we never hurt each other. We do not like to be separated so we must go together.

Lacey – is heartworm positive so is starting heartworm treatment and will need to be kept calm until June 1st.

ONLY GOOD BEHAVIORS:

My foster mom says I’m such a sweet and VERY smart dog.  I will be the best companion someone could have.  I’m quiet and so well behaved.  I enjoy a snooze on the couch, which is against house rules at my foster home, so I’ve already learned to pick another place to lay down.  Bummer…I miss life on a couch.  But, I’ll do anything you wish.  I would be a great dog for a retired couple or really any loving family will suit me fine.

I’LL LOVE YOU FOREVER:

So, I’m a little skittish at first.  Just give me a few hours and I’ll warm up to you and then I will OWN you and won’t let you out of my sight.  I will be the most loyal little dog you have ever had.  I don’t want to be everyone’s dog, just yours.  I really am adorable to watch cause I’ll play with my toys and I’ll curl up in my own little bed (you will buy me a bed, right? ).  I’m even potty trained.  I prefer to be an only dog and I’ll nip at other dogs that try to get near my ‘person’.  Oh, by the way, can you please not kennel me?  I’ll kennel if you really want me to, but I will let my displeasure be obvious when I growl at you.  But it’s only a grow!…you can pick me up any time.  Oops, one other thing…I really prefer women.   Yes I am adorable and I’m ready to be all yours.

GREAT FAMILY DOG:

I am a sweet natured guy who is good with people of all ages.  My foster family has a special needs child and I am very good with her.  I enjoy playing with other dogs …I run and run with the little dog I live with.   We have a blast.   The family has four cats and we get along fine.  I don’t potty in the house but I will find the toilet paper and the trash can…and I really like when you leave your socks around.  I walk very well on a leash, am potty trained and can sit, down and stay.  I do love my food and prefer to eat alone.  I do enjoy affection but I don’t overdue it…some people like my independence.   I’m a big talker…I have a lot to say.  I’ll be a great dog for any family.  I love to be outside to play.

AWESOME DOG:

It’s so sad to lose a family after 10 years.  Now that I’m an old girl, what are my chances of being adopted?  I’m such an awesome dog and I feel so sad to be looking for a home at my age.  But, when I find one, I know they will fall in love with me and will appreciate my maturity.  I basically just lay around the house until it’s time to go outside to potty or to take a car ride…I love car rides.  My foster mom took me to her tennis lessons and I just laid there and waited for her to finish.  I’m a great companion.  Please consider adopting a senior dog and giving me the best years of my life. 

SWEET, SMART & LOVING:

I was rescued from a nasty man who was going to shoot me, when I was about 2 months old.  The owner had a female purebred Husky and did not want a mixed breed litter.  A wonderful family rescued me and cleared up my mange. Unfortunately my family is now having to move to an apartment and cannot take me with them.  My family says I am very sweet, smart and loving.

HAPPY DOG:

I really don’t understand what is happening here.  One minute I’m in a good home, the next minute I’m at an animal control and now I’m at Mostly Mutts shelter.  My mom could not afford to care for me and my sister, Frisky (already adopted).  I’m okay with finding a new home, I just hope it’s soon so I can have a family again.  I’m so lovable everyone at the shelter loves me.  I’m overweight so my foster is working with me to lose some weight.  I will be so handsome when about 5 – 8 lbs slimmer.  I’m a great dog!   Please consider me.

UNIQUELY WONDERFUL:   Shiba Inu / Spitz mix   Small to Medium

At first you may think I don’t like you very much, but when we bond, we’ll bond.  I enjoy a nice rub down and some sweet talk.  I am no trouble at all at the shelter but it’s not my favorite place (too many crazy dogs around here).  I’m very quiet but I do bark to warn you someone is coming in.  I walk right into my kennel and I find it very comfortable.  You will enjoy me very much and we’ll have a very loving relationship.  I will be best as an only dog as I can be a bully to other dogs.  

A BEAUTIFUL BOY:

I was too big for my last family so I’m looking for a family who likes BIG dogs.  I’m so gorgeous and so friendly and get along so well with the other dogs.  Campbell is my best friend, but I’ll play with anyone.  I will definitely need to go to training classes with you as I was not taught manners when I was young.  Now that I’m bigger, people don’t think my jumping is very nice.  I also sometimes have an attitude and you will have to learn what to do when I show it to you.  I’m crazy, happy, lovable, and huggable.
